Introduction
Registering for the Saudi Medical Licensing Examination (SMLE) is the first major step toward your medical career in Saudi Arabia. The process is managed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), primarily through their Mumaris Plus portal.
Step 1: Create a Mumaris Plus Account
Mumaris Plus is the unified portal for all health practitioners in Saudi Arabia.
- Go to the official SCFHS website and navigate to Mumaris Plus.
- Sign up using your Email or Nafath (if applicable).
- Complete your profile by uploading your ID (Iqama/Passport) and educational certificates. Note that degrees outside Saudi Arabia may require DataFlow verification.
Step 2: Apply for the Exam
Once your degree is classified or you're recognized as an eligible candidate:
- Navigate to the "Examinations" section in your dashboard.
- Select "SMLE".
- Pay the required exam fee directly through the portal (usually around 1,500 - 2,000 SAR depending on your classification and attempt).
Step 3: Book via Prometric
After approval and payment on Mumaris Plus, you will receive an eligibility number.
- Go to the Prometric website.
- Enter your eligibility number.
- Choose your preferred testing center (available globally) and available date.
Tip: Testing windows fill up quickly, especially towards the end of the year. Book your date 2-3 months in advance!
